December 1, 2020
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!
By now you should have received your letter from the Search Committee and the Vestry on the call of The Rev. Henry O. Tuell, IV (Fr. Hank) as St. John’s Church new Priest-in-Charge!
Fr. Hank is coming to us from the Diocese of Arizona, St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, Chandler, AZ. He is a graduate from Tennessee State University, Nashville, Tennessee and from General Theological Seminary, New York City!
During his time in New York, Fr. Hank worked as a Chaplain Assistant at Canterbury Downtown, the Episcopal Diocese of NY’s College Ministry Program and completed his seminary field education in the Pastoral Care Department at Trinity Wall Street.
Prior to attending seminary Fr. Hank worked in the Information Technology Field both as a Project Manager and a Systems Engineer for several technology companies. He also served as a counsellor at Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch in Billings, Montana, a residential youth treatment centre, where he ran therapeutic counselling groups and developed spiritual and educational programming.
Thank you for your prayers and support during the last year and 9 months of St. John’s transition. Thank you also to the Search Committee and Vestry for their dedication during this process, especially during a pandemic.
We look forward to welcoming Fr. Hank and his family in January 2021.
With God’s continued help, let us all embark on this new chapter in the life, ministry community and fellowship of St. John’s Church, Staten Island.
May God continue to bless you and your family!
Vestry and Warden
